Apple iWatch tipped to arrive in October

As per usual, Apple has been tight-lipped about its upcoming iWatch forcing us to speculate on how it looks, what it can do and when it’s actually arriving.
Although now it seems that some new reports have answered the latter, claiming that the iWatch will launch this October.
According to Re/code who spoke to “people familiar” with Apple’s plans, the iWatch is set to launch in October at a special event that will hopefully get the wearable off to a good start.
Similarly the Nekkei Asian Review cites anonymous "industry sources" who claim that October is the month that Apple's wearable will show its face.
The same sources also say that the iWatch will sport a curved OLED touchscreen and that Apple are planning to produce between 3 million and 5 million units a month.
Apple’s first wearable  device will show messages sent by smartphones as well as health-related data including calorie consumption, sleep data, blood oxygen levels and blood glucose levels.
The device is said to make use of the new HealthKit features found in iOS 8, that were revealed at Apple’s WWDC.
Competitors Samsung and Sony have both released health-focused wearable bands, but Tim Cook-led Apple has been slow to bring similar technology to the market.
Expectations are high after Apple’s Eddy Cue recently said that later in 2014, ”we’ve got the best product pipeline that I’ve seen in my 25 years at Apple.”
