Microsoft published an online tool last month that attempted to guess the age and gender of a person based on a single photo. How-Old.net, which was developed in a single day to demonstrate the power of machine learning, quickly went viral and has since been used by millions of people.
The same developers behind that project have created TwinsOrNot.net which, as you can likely surmise, uses machine learning to determine how similar two people look. You’ll get a score from 0 to 100 once the tool works its magic.
Microsoft’s Mat Velloso built the tool in just a few spare hours while staying at a hotel in the Czech Republic. He outlined the entire build process in a recent blog post should you be interested in digging deeper.
