As a refresher, the HTC One (M8) features a 5.0-inch 1920 x 1080 LCD display, a Snapdragon 801 SoC with a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz plus an Adreno 330 GPU, and 2 GB of LPDDR3 memory. There's also up to 32 GB of internal storage plus a microSD card slot, and the Ultrapixel-powered "Duo Camera" on the back.
The last major Windows Phone device released by HTC was the Windows Phone 8X, launched alongside Windows Phone 8 in November 2012. A new high-end handset in HTC's Windows Phone line-up is overdue, and Microsoft is said to be focusing on hardware partners in future releases, not just Nokia.
No indication was given of when we might see a Windows Phone-powered version of the HTC One (M8), but let's hope it's not just a phantom device.
